LION
is a totem of Basarwa. It is used in this logo to represent Basarwa tribe who were relocated to make way for Sowa Town. The other meaning for the lion is the wildlife which is found in this area.

FLAMINGOS
are predominant birds in this region. This is so because Makgadikgadi salt Pans is one of the largest breeding place and home to the Flamingo birds. As such Sua Pan which engulfs Sowa Town provides a unique bird viewing scenery.

HAND
depicts the Sua Pan where local people used to go and harvest salt for household consumption

PAN BASE :
The yellowish color represent the pan base where salt was extracted from.

WATER
represents the abundant water in the pans.

SALT:
The white represents salt being extracted or harvested from the pan.

BAOBAB
The baobab tree was initially used as a boundary mark for the Sowa township. The tree still stands a few meters away from the road and the boundary fence on the right as one exit Sowa Town towards A32 Nata-Francistown road.

It also represents the different vegetation that is found in this area.
